This year's Annual Inspire Conference will focus on the human heart. Topics include; anatomy and physiology, various diseases, and pathways to future careers in cardiology. University of Minnesota science, engineering, and clinical faculty, Medical School students, and professionals from leading medical technology companies will be leading the lectures and interactive invention kits

The IEM Inspire Conferences are one-day annual events in November typically held on UMN’s Minneapolis East Bank Campus. Hundreds of high school students throughout Minnesota learn how scientists and engineers work together to tackle health problems that affect us and our loved ones. Each conference focuses on a particular issue. Speakers from the University of Minnesota and leading medical technology companies deliver TED-like talks about their current research on the conference’s topic, why they are so passionate about what they do, and the pathways they took from high school to where they are today. Our hope is that these conferences will inspire YOU to pursue a career in engineering or biomedical research..
